Once a month, we gather together in a space in West Philly that can fit up to 60 people to watch a movie and talk about it. We generally focus on recent dvd releases of foreign, independent, and documentary films. After watching the film together, we have a discussion which usually lasts about 50 minutes. It's been great to meet people from so many different backgrounds and see the value that diversity adds to our group and discussions. Javaflix is a free event.

I am hoping to meet others who would like to get together bi-weekly or monthly. If we did it bi-weekly... we could get together during the first week of the month, see a movie. And during the third week, we could all review a book, or discuss titles we have enjoyed. If we do it monthly, we could try to see a movie followed by dr …
