I have been studying metaphysical concepts for several years. I want to meet like minded people to discuss interests and compare notes with. I would prefer the meetings be non-structured discussions between groups of peers. Some of the things I'm interested in discussing are: Hermetic Mysticism, The Law of Attraction, Synchronicity, Ki/Chi, Quantum Physics, and Relativity. I'm open minded and interested in talking about other concepts as well. No experience is necessary, just curiosity. Please …

There are many book clubs. This group reads literary classics...books that have stood the test of time. So we'll never read the hot new thing...we'll read books that are 10-10,000 years old but are still in print. We'll read Homer, Dante, Salinger, Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, John Kennedy Toole, Alice Walker, Shakespeare. Great authors, great books. We'll read fiction, poetry, drama, folk tales, philosophy. We'll discuss what we read over wine or coffee. Sound fun?

This book club began in 2007 in response to a gap in book clubs in the West side of the Triangle. Since then, many book clubs have emerged (on meetup, and elsewhere). We're still around, and I guess that means something is working. We alternate locations (between Chapel Hill and Durham), and for the most part, meet the last Tuesday of the month. Our four organizers all love this book club, and participate often. We're always looking for new members and fresh ideas in discussion. What can you exp …
Insight (Vipassana) meditation is the simple and direct practice of moment-to-moment mindfulness. Through careful and sustained observation, we experience for ourselves the ever-changing flow of the mind/body process. This awareness leads us to accept more fully the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that life inevitably brings. As insight deepens, we develop greater equanimity and peace in the face of change, and wisdom and compassion increasingly become the guiding principl …

Why Triangle Fatties? (By the Founder, Bobbie Jo) I went to my first BBW meetup group several years ago. I was at a low point in my journey to accept myself for who I was. It was empowering being with people that had some of the same shared experiences. I hope that people in all stages of self-acceptance will join the group and together we can have positive, fun, and new experiences. I have yet to go to a meetup where I didn't find someone to have a friendly conversation and a few laughs with. …
