I am looking for a few good readers to engage in great conversation over a nice glass of wine. I would like to read all sorts of books from fascinating fiction to noteworthy non-fiction. In other words, I like to learn about new topics, but I also love to discuss human nature as presented through cleverly crafted novels. I expect that our chosen books will sometimes be central in the discussion, and sometimes will be touchstones for other interesting conversations. The group is open to any free- …

The Integrative Medical Discussion Group (IMDG) became an initiative at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in May 2006. Deb Davies, L.Ac. patterned this group after UCSD’s HI-Med (Holistic Integrative Medical) group. The concept of IMDG is to join on a regular basis (every other month), current and future doctors of both eastern and western backgrounds, who are interested in integrative medicine These enlightened discussions include good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Anyone in the com …
Few things are as serious as humor. Take away it away from us and things get seriously too serious. My opinion: humor is the WD-40 of the human condition. Seriously. New York City once had the Algonquin Round Table at which famed humorists of the 1920s would meet to kibbitz and sharpen each others' humor skills. I think San Diego needs a similar roundtable, open to writers, to artists/entertainers or to smart and interesting people with their humor genes intact. I have a roundtable and a beautif …
Let's meet and talk about topics from philosophy to misosophy, politics to economics, religion to atheism. Let's pick questions and dwell on them together over a cup of tea, a glass of wine or a beer. Everybody is welcome to join and discuss in an environment of tolerance where other members will support your viewpoints or politely challenge them. Or if you just want to listen to some funny, outrageous or brilliant ideas, then come aboard.
Welcome!!!
I'm extremely pleased to have this as my first Meetup in the USA.

Welcome to The Ladies' Readers Review! We are a diverse group of Reading Ladies coming together to share our thoughts, insights and sometimes similar stories as the characters themselves, from the books we read. I hope, as we say "see you soon" at the end of a Review, each of you walk away feeling you participated in a great discussion, met some fascinating Reading Ladies, received some recommendations for future reads, and maybe made a new friend or two. We will vote on a book for each Re …

Harry Potter has paved the way for those of us "Grown Ups" who find we love novels written for tweens and teens to come out of the closet. We'll pick a book every few weeks and get together to discuss and share our love for this genre. And in grown up style we'll be able to do so while enjoying a glass of wine or if you'd rather, a Butterbeer.

The purpose of this group is to read and discuss all kinds of mystery novels from cozies to thrillers, as well as to meet new people with a similar interest in literature. We welcome all adults who love to read and maybe even fancy themselves a bit of an "armchair sleuth"! I started this group because there is nothing that I personally love better than a good mystery novel. How about you?
